Beach Creative had a stall at the Junior School Fair this afternoon. Thanks to the generosity of the parents, friends and children, we raised £37.90 for the Chicken Fund to buy new chickens, food and repair the coup for our Guerrilla Gardeners partners, Herne Bay in Bloom in the Community Kitchen Garden.

Sue, Lucy and Clive ran the Herne Bay in Bloom stall at the fabulous Men's Shed Open Day at Age Concern on May 9. Our sunflowers were growing well and the first of our Sunflower ambassador growers took possession of their plants - the Uprising has begun!

The Herne Bay in Bloom Community Kitchen Garden looked beautiful for our May Day celebrations on 4 May. The community came together with singing, activities and lovely food and drink, and the crowning of our first Green Queen, lovely Mandy Troughton. We officially launched the first of our missions - Sunflower Uprising, hoping to populate Herne Bay's gardens, parks and window boxes with sunflowers for the bees.
